blonde

Hey guys, welcome to what's been happening as of recent. Here's a catch up. I start my internship at Myer on Monday and I am now blonde! There you go, all caught up.

Went to Mosman with Saya for a sunset picnic. We are pretty romantic.

For those playing at home, what you can and can't see above includes:
. Pringles
. 2x Kinder Surprise
. Sour and non sour skittles
. Stringer cheese
. Watermelon and strawberries
. Pickles
. Nerds
. Grapes
. Sweet chilli philly and crackers
. Hommous topped with pesto
. Carrots and cucumbers
. Cheese and bacon rolls from Baker's Delight
. Cheese and Cucumber sandwiches
. Gummi bears
. Red Rock Deli Honey Soy Chicken chips

I am pretty good at putting together a snack food picnic party, what can I say.

Went out on the weekend with Luke's work friends for Karaoke. At the pub I put $1 in to More Chilli, my favourite game, and took out $10, It was a pretty great start to the night.

At Karaoke we picked out of a hat. These were my two choices. Don't worry, I ended up singing both, and it was late enough in to the night that everyone else was singing with me and I wasn't just up there by myself. We had a lot of fun.

And then the next morning before Luke had even opened his eyes, I decided to something pretty crazy.

The other day I posted a photo of a MAC store. And whilst I love the store and I love looking at the products I still would rather spend money on brands that are kind to animals like @lush_ausnz, here's to that long afternoon I spent in that great smelling bath.

Spent about a week being blonder balayage.

And then my work gave me the go ahead for Lilac hair, so I pretty much went to the hairdresser the next day.

I look so strange blonde.

It's a nice shade of 3 different shades.

Just call me Lisa (Girl Interrupted)

Spent the whole weekend trying to get the purple dye to hold on to my hair.

Pause in story, to show you this ridiculously good looking Mustang I saw at the shops.

Sassie being hilarious as always. I promise you she was in no way in any pain.

Progress. The middle of my hair isn't holding on to the purple dye as much as I would have liked but it's ok. Before Splendour I will be going lighter blonde, as close to white as possible, and hopefully all my hair can be one shade instead of three. I will then be going a lighter pastel purple. I am so excited. I love playing with my hair.

And I love this crazy cat a lot too.

Welcome to Sydney, Dan & the Iconic HQ

After over two years of him telling me that one day he would move to Australia, the day finally came. Last week one of my closest friends from London Dan, moved to Sydney! I woke up at some ungodly hour to be at the airport at 5am to pick him up. From there we went to his new apartment at Bondi. Seriously, living the dream.

After dumping his stuff in the apartment we went on an extremely cold 6am morning walk along Bondi. He was in such shock how many people were out and about doing fitness stuff. It really was a bit ridiculous though.

Jetlag Dan

That day we went in to the city and literally just did all the boring things you have to do when you move countries, you know like get a phone, a bank account etc. Spent the night at mine with Luke watching Game of Thrones and then had a sleepover because he didn't actually have a bed yet.

Next day we spent a fair few hours sitting around his empty apartment waiting for the movers to finish bringing in all of his roommate's boxes that she had had shipped from London. It took so much longer because Dan has some ridiculous 5 flights of stairs up to his flat.

But it's cool, we got to make cardboard mountains, so it's not as if the whole day was wasted or anything.

Losing the plot after no breakfast or lunch.

In love with my new Nomadic Store moon choker.

His apartment came fitted out with these adorable succulents. Definitely need some of these in my life, see you soon Ikea.

His roommate has a lot of artwork, and she had one of my favourite prints of all time. Will be getting this when I eventually get an apartment.

Playing in the MAC store at Mosman. Love the new Maleficent themed collection. And on that note...have you seen the movie?!?! It is seriously amazing. I have a real weakness for fairytales and fantasy, and Angeline Jolie, but most of all I have a weakness for movies that aim to break stereotypes and archetypal main characters. This was a story that revolved around true love not needing to be between a man and woman, and that women didn't need men to save them. But in saying this it was still so much more. It was about not making judgement until you know the whole story from both sides, it was about not letting things like ego and greed get the better of you, it was a beautiful story that I really badly want to watch again. And it actually had some pretty light funny moments.

Being a basic, walking in and out of Bassike empty handed. Will never be able to spend over $40 on a white t-shirt.

New purchases/ presents. Scrunchie and coat are from Topshop, and the necklace was a late Christmas present from my cousin. It is from Urban outfitters and it has a little e on it.

I was lucky enough to be able to go on an amazing excursion with the Fashion Institute to the Iconic HQ. We spent the first half of the day learning the ins and outs of buying. It was pretty tempting. I mean at the moment I am putting all of my focus in to Visual Merchandising. But I do like to keep my options open, and buying looks like kind of an amazing career.

Had the worst burger at Chur. I am sorry, I know that it gets 4/5 stars on Timeout and other travel advisory pages but I have to disagree. It's the bun that really ruins it. The ingredients in the burger alone are all great but put them between that bun and what you've got my friend is a disaster. 10/10 would not recommend. I chose to go here because I had already gone to Brooklyn Hide in the morning and didn't want to look lame. Will never make that bad decision again. Bagels all the way.

We spent the afternoon there learning about styling and everything that goes on behind the scenes. It was pretty interesting learning about the stylists and their careers. The whole excursion was extremely rewarding. I really hope one day my career will look like this, in an office that looks like that, working with nice people and amazing clothes. #dreambig

Nicole Millar at Vivid

For starters, I'm back to playing with my hair because when else am I going to be able to. I am back to balayage although am pretty set on going lilac. As soon as I get the go ahead from work, it's happening. Stay tuned.

Luke and I bought an all you can eat Tapas dinner at Barafinas Tapas bar in the city off Groupon. It was pretty nice. This was my first time eating tapas, and I am definitely a fan. Lots of different entree sized dishes, what more could you ask for? We could only order 2 at a time which was a bit of a pain because we ate them quicker then the time we spent waiting for them. But to be fair they were worth the wait. The calamari and the Chorizo were my favourites.

After Tapas we decided to wander around Martin Place to see all the flashy lights set up for Vivid.

We aren't very good at taking photos, or looking good in photos but I guess if you missed the lights at Martin Place this can give you a bit of an idea of what it was like. But I really do need to start taking my camera out more.

I may have lost composure watching people put their faces on to this light sculpture. We spent a good 10 minutes here dying of laughter.

Ended the night very cold and I was still wet from the pouring rain beforehand, but it was a great night out with my favourite. We were celebrating I think our 1 year 8 month anniversary, it's gone by so quickly. Feels like only yesterday I was waiting to surprise him out the front of his house after secretly flying back from London.

Last Friday night we went to see Nicole Millar play for Vivid at Opera bar. Such a chill night, the atmosphere was great and Nicole was spectacular as always. She will be playing at Splendour this year on the Red Bull Stage on the Saturday, and if you miss it, she will also be playing that night with RUFUS (de sol)!!

The Opera House just killin it as usual.

Sorry I barely post anymore. I need to get my camera out and start taking some proper photos again. I need to stop being so lazy. But on the plus side, I was lucky enough to get the visual merchandising internship at Myer! I am so excited, I start next Monday. I really hope this will open up doors for me, I am so ready to put my all into this internship.
