On our second day in Japan Lani, Blake and I went to Harajuku. Harajuku is the busiest areas in Tokyo but one of the best places to go shopping, especially for vintage clothes. It is a bit more expensive than the vintage stores I visited in Osaka but these stores are a lot more unique and some have been here for years!

This is how a lot of the vintage stores look and I am obsessed. There are always cute figurines and small art installations that make each store unique. This store in particular had a lot of Simpsons, Garfield, Basketball and Warner Bros vintage shirts and memorabilia. As their tagline says on google ‘Compact, quirky boutique specializing in colorful, offbeat vintage sportswear & modern accessories’

This store was situated in the higher price area of Harajuku. Once you have arrived in this area, turn back for lower priced vintage goods. This area was similar to Newtown, vintage items at a bit of a marked up price. Huge variety of shirts and menswear in particular, but I prefer my fun vintage stores like the next one..

Welcome to Spiral Toys, one of my favorite stores in Harajuku. I could spend hours in here just looking at everything they have fit into this small space. They have a huge range of fun collectible toys from McDonald’s Vintage Happy Meal Toys to My Little Ponies, Barbie, Simpsons and movie memorabilia such as E.T, Gremlins, Toy Story and everything in between. I bought a Gremlins soft toy and some stickers, I couldn’t leave this amazing store empty handed. I always find more things I wish I purchased when I go back through my photos.

I had first been introduced to this brand in the States and had bought myself a middle finger cat air freshener that still sits in my car to this day. That was just from a skate shop, this was my first time encountering a whole store of Ripndip and I was not disappointed . They had some special event at the time which I for the life of me cannot remember who they were collating with. But this store is a vibe and I love this mirror.

This has always been a huge favorite of mine ever since I visited Tokyo last time and was first introduced to WEGO. I was a bit disappointed on this visit as I personally didn’t gravitate to any of the clothes on display. But this is one of those stores that there is really something for everyone.
Spent the day wandering these streets. Always something interesting to see around every corner in Harajuku. The shoe shops are to die for. I just wish they weren’t so heavy or I would have come home with so many pairs. I actually did end up buying another pair of YRU’s while I was here.
This was a really cool costume shop that I would highly recommend a walkthrough. You might even find something you like.
The street food in Harajuku is so much fun, you can get rainbow candy floss in a variety of shapes and cheese hotdogs that are so delicious. There are sweet crepes, savory crepes and everything in between to snack on in between your shopping endeavors.
That afternoon we went on a proper mission for rollercoaster sushi. We only got lost a few dozen times.
Obsessed with this aesthetic, Tokyo is very sci if aesthetic.
These are food stores at the station. Look how fresh and tasty all that seafood looks. You can never go wrong with sushi or sashimi in Japan.

Some of the freshest and tastiest sushi I had during this trip. At this restaurant you order off a screen and the sushi plates come out to you on a conveyor belt. It is a really fun experience and the food is so good. I didn’t love that they had horse on the menu, but that’s none of my business. My go to order is usually salmon and tuna sashimi, anything salmon roe or flying fish roe, eel or unagi, octopus, egg omelette and I always love to try new plates I have never seen before. It doesn’t always end well though. I discovered this way that I very much do NOT like sea urchin.

After dinner I went for a stroll around by myself and found a Kobe beef stand while I was looking for my grape cigarettes.
I stumbled across another food truck on the way home and had to get some skewers. I couldn’t tell you for the life of me what meat this is but I know it was delicious and I went back to that little lady almost every night I stayed at this accommodation.
