Solo USA XV Contiki Mobile Alabama & Panama City Beach Florida

My first American squirrel sighting in Mobile, Alabama. We had stopped off for lunch on the drive to Panama where we would be staying for the night. We spent some time wandering this beautiful park after lunch. This was my only real glimpse of Alabama but it was quite lovely for what we saw. I really love the old buildings in the Southern States.

We stopped into the Moonpie General Store and I just continued to make Simpson's references the entire time, it was great!

I also found Marge's suit in a second hand store!

We had another stopover where we tried our first gas stop nachos. They were just as disgusting as they look. I really regret now not trying Taquito's though, next time.

We ran into the floofiest little puppies and I died cuddling these babies for a solid 20 minutes. Thanks again to the owners for letting me lowkey cry over how much I missed my own pups.

We finally made it to Panama City Beach after a few more hours of driving and it was one of my absolute favourite afternoons in the states. Our contiki pulled up, we all went to our rooms, got changed and everyone then met up on the beach for a glorious afternoon of pina coladas, sunshine and sea.

When the sun started to go down we all finished our drinks and got ready for dinner at the Shrimp Boat.

The dinner was decent, nothing to really write home about but it wasn't bad. I had made some friends that day but I wasn't seated with them at dinner. The people I sat with were nice but there wasn't much banter and I didn't really cross paths with them again later. That's the good thing about Contiki's being so large, you can avoid the people you don't click with and it won't affect your trip in any way.

After dinner we went for drinks and bowling, I lost spectacularly as usual.

Not much may have happened on this day but I had found my people and I couldn't wait to explore more of USA with these legends.
