Vinyl Hunting

Well this is a little awkward, seems I forgot to actually post this. I had it all put together but I just completely forgot. So here is a little blast from the pretty recent past. Also just a heads up, during March- April I was really stressed and way too busy and wasn't able to blog about a lot of great things I did like Mountain Sounds Festival and Laneway Festival and a lot of other things. I will be posting links to new blog posts on my Facebook Page.

Mini Review: Frank Body Scrub
I have been looking for a nice natural exfoliate to use for a while now, ever since hearing how damaging microbeads are to the environment. You know those little beads inside face and body wash, they are basically just balls of plastic that are small enough to find their way back into the ocean to be eaten by fish. They look exactly like fish food so I'm not surprised. That's why I love using Frank, it's natural. My personal favourite is the Coconut and Grapeseed scrub, but they also have Original and their new Cacao scrub. It is all kinds of amazing. It is dirty, it is messy and it is a great scrub. Honestly if you are having problems with acne, stretch marks, cellulite, or even just dry skin, this product not only exfoliates but it moisturises too! I am already down to my 2nd packet of Coconut scrub. It's a great winter scrub, when your skin just feels uncomfortable. Highly recommend. And it's not just for girls.

On the way to Easter lunch at Luke's with his family.

It's very traditional. I don't think I have eaten as much seafood in one sitting as I did that day.

Ah I can't remember the name of this soup but it is a really "famous" crab soup. It is pretty much just crab and other types of seafood in a tomato based soup but it was incredible.

Fashuun

My Easter breakfast at home. We aren't very traditional, we aren't exactly a religious family, but we do enjoy an occasional Easter egg hunt. This year mum included Luke and Saya in the mix, she gave us all baskets to search for the eggs in my room. I don't know how she did it because we were all asleep in my room and then when we woke up it was egg hunting time. Mum is sneaky like that.

Went to one of Rick's gigs at Hot Damn @polarisaus
Tried wearing my Glampire "Prom Night" lipstick. I am pretty bad when it comes to makeup and drinking, so by the end of the night I looked a bit of a mess, but then again that's what happens most nights #amirite?

Going Vinyl hunting with my Bae on Record Store Day.

Quick stop off at American Apparel for some essentials

Found a cute little 50's 60's shop that had the most cowboy boots I have seen in one room and they had a huge rug with The King's face on it. I wish I was alive in that time. If I was a teenage girl during the time of the King I would be the biggest groupie you have ever seen. None of that Tweenager Directioner crap, I mean hardcore groupie. He was and will always be my number 1 next to Lana del Ray closely followed by Stevie Nicks.

Found a cute little "vintage shop" on Oxford Street that had heaps of Vinyls. I say "Vintage" because it wasn't really put together. It was more like walking through a hoarders house. Which I usually love but in this case I was pretty upset because I bought 3 Elvis Vinyls from here only to come home to find they were all warped. Lesson learnt, always check vintage vinyls before you buy them.

As I said, it was Record Store day and we did find a fair few great places. Here are the places we went:

The Record Store - It was a great store, but it was so small. It was Record Store day and they were getting in to it 100% giving out drinks and having DJ sets. This store has a lot of Hip Hop and Rap vinyls which wasn't really what I was looking for. The store is great and I would go back there but on that day I could not get out of there quick enough. It was too loud, there were too many people crowded in to a tiny room and it just wasn't a great experience when all I wanted to do was look at records.

Red Eye Records - This store had such great vibes. I literally felt like I had gone back in time. It is such a classic Record Store, and it had everything I wanted. It is a bit expensive, but most vinyls are these days. At this store I ended up buying a Fleetwood Mac vinyl, but it wasn't Rumours which is what I should have gotten, but it was more expensive. And I also got Led Zeppelin IV, which is superb.

Places to go:

The Vintage Record -Everything
Mojo Record Bar - Jazz, Soul, Rock, Blues and a bar.
Birdland Records - Jazz, Blues and Soul
Marlowe's Way - Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk and Friday Night jams
Title - Everything
Classic Hifi - Everything needed to play Vinyl
Repressed Records - Everything
Resist Records - Punk and Hardcore

And the scrunchie obsession begins.

Sleepovers and breakfast in bed. There is nothing I love more in life.

Dinner with Saya.

Tried Jalapeño poppers because I loved the ones I had at Garfunkels in London. These were ok. Pretty intense though.

Because sometimes its ok to eat food the size of your head.

I have a pretty bad problem. If there is food in front of me I pretty much have to eat it. So now I have a little trick I do, instead of eating everything and feeling like crap I ruin the food so I can stop eating. It's a real problem.

Went to El Sol after dinner to see Georgia who now lives in Melbourne.

And then we went to Oatley to see Luke and hang out with Locky who lives in Tasmania.

Yol, Saya and my Car. Look at our little babies.

Had a pretty lovely dinner with these two that involved food being thrown around and faces being made and captured with a camera. We really shouldn't be allowed in public together.

They keep me happy.

Things I want/ need oh baby, oh baby

Currently in the process of procrastinating my 4 assessments for The Fashion Institute and studying my 3 essays and writing 1 more for my final philosophy exam. I have spent over 2 days doing this one Buying assessment and have only completed section 1. And to give you a basic idea of what I spent all that time doing, 'cut' 'paste' 'crop' 'move'. So many moodboards, so little care for fashion anymore. But on the positive side in doing this I was able to spend a few hours watching Luke play South Park, The Stick of Truth and I completed the whole first and only season of Freaks and Geeks. If you have not seen it, do it now. And if you have, WHY ARE THERE NO MORE EPISODES! Seriously one of my new favourite series of all time right next to Daria and the Simpsons. I am writing this post because my 21st is coming up and all I can think about is all the things I have always wanted but would never get because I can never fathom spending more then $30 on an item of clothing because I am #1brokegirl. But for once I am going to put my savings game on hold and treat myself. My final philosophy exam is literally on the day of my birthday party (feel like a little kid saying that). As soon as that exam is over I am free for at least the next month, minus work. As long as I get all these ridiculously time consuming and mind numbing fasshuun assessments completed before then. Wish me luck!

Here are some things I have been dreaming about lately to help get me through day to day life.

White Timberlands

Unif I DYE MOTO Jacket

Samantha Wills Aries Gold

Sherbet sunrise crop

Srsly love anything with Bart

A big ol' denim Levi Jacket

Nomadic store stop being on holiday!

A new tattoo. I want to get a black ink outline of the world map on my wrist. I know this sounds stupid but I would really love to get something Simpson's related, even if it is just a small quote or a little picture of something like a donut or something. A smiling crescent moon on the inside of my ankle. And I would also like to one day get a personal Miso tattoo on the back of my elbow. That would be amazing!

One day I will own something by Charmaine Olivia and it will be amazing. I can't wait to live in an a pretty apartment where I can hang beautiful paintings like this.

The perfect hat. The Montana Midnight Muse hat by Lack of Colour

Going to keep adding to this as a break from study. But right now I really need to sort myself out and study so hard my brain melts in to a puddle, which I will then scoop up and put in to a water bottle, which I will take in to the exam with me. As soon as the exam starts I will open the bottle and pour the contents all over my exam. And that will be it, and I will be done. And then I get to celebrate my 21st!

Thailand Last Day

Here's to Thailand! Here's to our first overseas trip together! Here's to the Mangosteen resort for being over the top fantastic every single day we were there. This was such a great trip. I can't wait to go back. We had the best time, no food poisonings, no drink spiking, none of our things were stolen. Sometimes people overthink trips to "unsafe" places and sometimes it even turns them off their trip altogether. Thailand is an amazing place. Even though when we were there, there was political turmoil up north everything was still fine. The biggest tip I can give is just to be smart. That sounds so simple and silly but it is what will get you home in one piece. I always see people posting photos of these amazing cocktails and bragging about how cheap drinks are in Thailand, there is a reason they are so cheap. Drink bottled and avoid ice. If you are going to Thailand, be smart and stay safe. It is an incredibly beautiful place.

This was the room we got to stay in for a whole week! We felt like royalty. And yes that is an outdoor rain shower.

We spent our last day chilling by the pool. We checked out in the morning and were allowed to hang out, eat breakfast, lunch, swim in the pool all day. We were even given a room to shower in before we left. If you want to go to Thailand to relax and have your every need catered to, I highly recommend this resort. It cost about $10 to get to Kata Beach, $15 to Patong, it's a little far away from the hustle and bustle but it's worth it. We found out about this place through groupon, so check there frequently for amazing deals like our one.

Sadly it had to come to an end. The trip home was the worst flight I have ever been on in my life. I had taken sleeping pills because I can't sleep, let alone on planes. I was just drifting off to sleep when the smelly man in front of me started to mow his lawn. His snoring was so loud. Everyone else on the plane was asleep at this point. I didn't get it. How could they have slept when there was a jackhammer in front of me? I may have kicked his chair a few times, hoping he would roll in a certain way that would make him not snore as loud, or that he would wake up long enough for me to fall asleep. But he didn't. I spent that whole night on the plane awake. I broke down crying at one point because my body just couldn't take it. But you know what, it's in the past. I will never see that awful smelly man again. And I don't think I will ever fly overnight again, unless it is 100% necessary.

After the flight we picked up our duty free. A big and a small skull vodka, Canadian Club, Vodka and Luke got some things too. I also picked up a bag of Hershey's Kisses which are actually all gone now..
All in all, Thailand was amazing. If you have any questions message me here and I will try to help you out. For now here are some things you should do and places you should go if you are planning a trip there.
